Entreprenurship for Kids and Young Teens
Wendy Thomson, Bowie CTE Businessand Entrepreneurship Teacher.
Wendy Thomson is an entrepreneurship teacher and formerglobal marketing professional with experience working for brands including Nike
and Converse. She now brings that real-world business background into the
classroom, where she helps students develop skills in leadership,
communication, creativity, and entrepreneurship. She is passionate about
preparing young people not just for careers, but to become thoughtful, capable,
and ethical leaders.Beth Heyer, Business Owner of BabysittingConnection.
Beth is the Owner and Founder of Babysitting Connectionand mom to Grant and Evelyn. Her background is in recruiting and training, and
after becoming a stay-at-home mom in 2015, she quickly realized the power of
strong support systems for women and mothers. In 2018, she relocated from
Columbus, OH to Austin, TX—and after struggling to find reliable childcare, she
launched Babysitting Connection in 2020 to help other families find trusted
care with ease.Jordan Vimont, Business Owner of Hill Country Fishing Camps.
Jordan is currently an entrepreneur and college student, but hisdaily focus is almost entirely on running and growing Hill Country Fishing
Camps. His perspective will be very valuable for the parents who feel the
traditional university path isn't the only option. He’s living proof that you
can prioritize building a business and a career in the "trades" of
the outdoor industry while still in school. He will share how he balanced the
two and why starting early was the best decision he made.Students:
